Padang Palace, Singapore Recreation Club

It has been so long since I last posted anything! Was away in Tokyo for a week and down with food poisoning for a couple of days thereafter. Finally feeling better and concluding the weekend with a new post on Padang Palace.

This is such a hidden gem. Singapore Recreation Club is situated right beside Padang, behind the St Andrew Cathedral, and within a comfortable walking distance from the office. Thank you Lynda for your awesome recommendation and for the delicious treat.

Prawn dumplings - the prawns were fresh and crunchy with a light thin skin.

The mango, banana, and prawn roll. This was interesting. It was sweet and savory at the same time, crispy on the outside with soft mushy banana and mango inside.

Xiao Long Baos! The Xiao Long Baos were filled with a thick yummy broth and fresh juicy pork.

The Siew Mai was filled with fresh pork, juicy prawns, and chopped mushrooms.

And this was the bomb! XO fried carrot cake. It was spicy, delicious, with chunky carrot cake and crispy bean sprouts. I would highly recommend this dish if you visit Padang Palace.

Yummy char siew sou with a thin crust and sweet char siew inside.

Orange-colored liu sha bao! The salty custard oozed out smoothly when I bit into the bun. Pretty good liu sha bao!

This is truly a hidden gem and one that I am extremely happy to stumble upon. Situated with a perfect view of the Padang and within walking distance from City Hall MRT, I predict I will be back soon for a Sunday dimsum brunch!
